[He keeps it up when... the building is rocked by an explosion. Shouting and the distant sounds of fighting have him rocketing to his feet, heading for the door as a knight busts in to declare they're under attack.]
[Keirean gets the rough report of the enemy forces and its not great. With a lot of men down with injuries and a surprise attack... plus the attacking force is pretty large and even brought monsters. Not to mention the fire is spreading. He orders the knight to guard Kamukura and heads down to help repel the invading forces and organize the evacuation of the staff and the injured. They can't fight the fire and the enemies, they'll have to retreat while protecting the defenseless.
Rip Kamukura being stuck listening to the sounds of battle from here. The knight with him anxiously getting things ready to leave.]
[Kamukura is going feral. He knows he'll only hamper them in battle, in his condition, but between his fixation on Keirean and the... uncomfortable similarities, to that time in his childhood, he's losing his fucking mind.
But he's focusing on doing his best to aid the knight in preparing to get out of there, however little he can actually do. Bonuses of being dead inside is a certain degree of self control! Downside is he's probably terrifying that poor knight.]
[The knight is shook. It's a while before Keirean comes back, bloody, and sends the knight off with important documents and orders to aid the retreat.]
[but he's literally already following the order, as smoothly as he can. so rather clumsy. his body is not a helper right now. the stress has kicked his fever back in, too.]
[Sorry he can't princess carry you out. He hooks his arms under Kamukura's legs though, makes sure the man is holding on, then heads down to the stables. They are thankfully not attacked on the way, somehow, and manage to get on a horse, Keirean settling Kamukura in front of him.
But as they head out a monster appears, the horse spooks, and they're sent on a mad uncontrolled dash through the forest, Keirean holding onto Kamukura and the horse, grimly keeping them on.
At some point the horse stumbles, and later finally stops, panting, limping, and Keirean slides off with Kamukura in his arms, looking around the dark woods.]
[Look he may dream about being princess carried by Keirean but this is already firmly in nightmare territory and only getting worse. He blacks out a few times on the uncontrolled dash, which isn't HELPFUL, but there's only so much a man recovering from monster poison can do in this kind of situation. He's conscious when they slip off the horse, though, if kind of hazy, and peering at the trees owlishly.]
[Though admittedly, not by much. He kneels, setting Kamukura up against a tree and checking his temperature then his wound. Finding neither in a good state he smooths Kamukura's hair back then goes to check the horse. It's injured as he thought. He comes back with a flask of water. Holding it to Kamukura's lips.]
[he sounds like he wants to protest but also like he's on the very edge of blacking out again, which may explain the impudent form of address. one that he may have indulgently let a child use in the past, but, well...]
[It is a strange way to hear his name from this man but the situation is too dire to mind it.]
No arguing.
[In truth, though he's in great shape he isn't young enough to be pulling an all nighter without feeling it later. But they don't really have options and hopefully tomorrow they'll find somewhere safe enough. He'll manage fine until they can relax a little. ]
[Whether he wakes to the occassional sound of fighting or not, he's being gently scooped in Keirean's arms come morning. There's the coprses of some minor monsters, if he looks, but Keirean is carrying him princess style this time as he leads the limping horse.]
[he's not really processing things well by morning. his condition has taken a predictable downturn overnight, but he's still cooperatively holding still to be carried, blearily looking around like he's on the watch for danger.]
[He's worried because Kamukura is burning up. They need shelter. And food. After a bit he stops to set Kamukura down to try getting him to drink again.]
[he's less fussy about drinking as much as keirean wants him to, this time. he's far less aware of their situation, really, at least on a level he can really think about.]

Drink.

[He touches Kamukura's face again, frowning.]
You should drink more. You're feverish.

Get some rest. I'll keep watch. We can find shelter in the morning.
[If they're attacked he'll defend them. He's still capable as a knight!]
